Emily Wenman’s “sparkling” singing and acting has lit up opera and concert stages across the UK, and overseas. Since completing postgraduate training at RWCMD, Emily now studies privately with acclaimed soprano Nuccia Focile. Recent opera roles include Carolina in The Secret Marriage with Hampstead Garden Opera (“sung beautifully with comic intuition” - Ham & High), Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro with Opera-in-a-Box (“superb… sparkling singing and acting… a joy to watch” - NODA), Ann Trulove in The Rake’s Progress with Bristol Opera, Cendrillon with Bute Park Opera and the eponymous role in scenes from Turnage’s Anna Nicole with Music Theatre Wales. Emily is an experienced concert soloist, performing regularly on concert platforms across the country, including Gloucester Cathedral (Verdi’s Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem, Bach’s Magnificat), Llandaff Cathedral (Mozart’s Requiem, Faure’s Requiem and Poulenc’s Gloria), and St Martin-in-the-Fields (Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and Mass in B Minor, Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor).

Emily is an accomplished ensemble performer, and regularly performs and records with some of the UK’s top professional ensembles (including Sonoro and Blossom Street). Emily is a permanent member of the professional quartet at St Pancras Parish Church, home to the London Festival of Contemporary Church Music, and has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, on In Tune and in the première of Mark Bowden’s We Have Found a Better Land. Other highlights include singing at Wembley Stadium, as part of the BBC Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular, and performing at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna.
