St Martin’s Voices is a new, vibrant professional choir that was formed at St Martin-in-the-Fields. The vocal ensemble is primarily made up of talented past and present choral scholars who come together to sing world-class concerts and high-profile services at St Martin-in-the-Fields and beyond.
Highlights of St Martin’s Voices’ opening season included Annelies: A Choral Setting of the Diary of Anne Frank by James Whitbourn for Holocaust Memorial Day, and A Celebration of William Lloyd Webber with renowned cellist Julian Lloyd Webber. In December 2014 they performed Choral Evensong on BBC Radio 3, and in April 2015 they began a series of Daily Service broadcasts on BBC Radio 4. Recent engagements include performing at the Templeton Prizegiving ceremony at St Martin’s, and a live broadcast on BBC One for the seventieth anniversary VE Day memorial service at the Cenotaph.
As well as their extensive concert and broadcasting programme, St Martin’s Voices and Revd Dr Sam Wells explore the music of our religious heritage at Great Sacred Music, a free event at St Martin’s every Thursday at 1pm.
