Mozart: Requiem, Bach: Magnificat

  • Gloucester Cathedral England (map)

Mozart’s Requiem, completed after his death by Süssmayr, is one of the most popular pieces of sacred choral works with origins shrouded in mystery as no record exists as to who commissioned the work which adds to the Mozart myth.

Coupled with Bach’s great Magnificat, we bring you another great masterpiece, written during Bach’s time as Thomaskantor in Leipzig. This setting of the “Song of Mary” is brilliantly crafted and wonderful on the ear.
